• 416 — Toronto's original telephone area code, used as shorthand for the old City of Toronto / downtown core — sometimes with an implied "real Toronto" vs. the suburbs.
• 905 — The area code covering the suburban ring around Toronto — Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Markham, Pickering and more. Used to describe someone from "outside the city," sometimes as light shade.
