Salsa on St. Clair launched in 2005, produced by the Canadian Salsa Festivals Project, a federally incorporated not-for-profit. It is widely described as Canada's largest Latin American street festival. The free, family-friendly event closes St. Clair Avenue West for a weekend every July, with multiple stages of live Latin music, professional and amateur salsa and bachata dancing in the street, free dance lessons, a cultural pavilion of exhibits and crafts, and food vendors.
Two decades running
The festival has run annually for two decades, becoming a fixture of Toronto's summer festival calendar and a major showcase for the city's Latin American community along the same stretch of St. Clair West that's also home to Corso Italia.
