Canada's Sports Hall of Fame operated for decades out of Exhibition Place in Toronto, inducting and honouring the country's most accomplished athletes and sports builders across every major Canadian sport, from hockey and football to track and field and rowing. Its Toronto exhibit space displayed artifacts, memorabilia and inductee profiles spanning the full history of organized Canadian sport, drawing visitors alongside the CNE's other attractions.
A move to Calgary
The hall's Toronto exhibit space closed in the 2000s amid funding and facility challenges, and the organization relocated its physical museum to Calgary, reopening there in 2011 as part of that city's Canada Olympic Park. The hall continues to induct new members annually regardless of its physical location, but its decades based at Exhibition Place remain part of Toronto's own layered sports history, a reminder that not every long-running Toronto institution stayed in the city permanently.
